Welcome to MoorArts

MoorArts is a non-profit organization of parents, educators, and township residents dedicated to preserving Moorestown's long-standing commitment to the arts. All MoorArts sponsored events raise funds for the MoorArts Scholarship and Grant Program. Through this program, MoorArts has administered thousands of dollars in grants and awards to support arts-related projects in the public schools and in scholarships to Moorestown High School seniors pursuing advanced study in the arts. In addition, MoorArts partners with school district and community organizations on projects that expand arts awareness and accessibility.

Autumn in Moorestown

MoorArts hosted an exciting line-up of live entertainment during Moorestown Business Association’s 2013 Autumn in Moorestown Festival, and presented an exhibition of outstanding K-12 student artwork to compliment the professional arts and crafts featured at this annual all-day event that lines Moorestown’s Main Street.

Join us on Saturday, December 7, 2013 right after the Lion's Holiday Parade for this MoorArts tradition. MoorArts will help to make the season bright by showcasing K-12 student artwork and photography, and giving local singers and musicians a venue to perform seasonal and original musical numbers. Children can also create winter-inspired treasures at the make-and-take craft tables. The annual MoorArts event is located on the 3rd Floor of the Church Street Recreation Center, and is supported by the Moorestown Parks and Recreation Department.

Summer Musical Theater

evitasummer_150_113Each summer, MoorArts strives to present a high-quality musical that broadens the community arts experience. The gritty streets of mid-century Argentina materialized on stage for our production of Evita in 2013. Over 40 singers and dancers, backed by an expansive pit orchestra, brought the organization's 15th annual musical to life. Previous shows include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Hairspray, and Into the Woods. Proceeds from the summer theater productions support Moorarts student scholarships and teacher grants in the arts. MoorArts will proudly present The Sound of Music in 2014.
