Welcome to MoorArts

MoorArts is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the fine and performing arts in our community and schools. Join us throughout the year for a variety of events designed to broaden the arts experience for everyone. Proceeds from our events support MoorArts Scholarships and Teacher Grants for arts-related projects in the public schools. Our success hinges on the active participation of community members who love the arts.

Mission Statement

MoorArts is an advocate for the arts in the community.  We believe that arts should be regarded as a necessity, not a luxury.

District Art Show

MoorArts presents the Moorestown Public School System District Art Show the first Saturday of June on the 3rd Floor of the Church Street Recreation Center. This annual event showcases the outstanding art created by K-12 students--including paintings, drawings, photography and sculpture. The exhibition coincides with Moorestown Day--the township's street festival celebrating all things Moorestown. Come out and enjoy the fabulous art produced in our schools and make a day of it!

New York State of Mind

MoorArts brought the music of Billy Joel to Moorestown as we presented the tribute band New York State of Mind in June, 2019. Led by vocalist and piano man Marc G. Dalio, the band rocked the house with Billy Joel favorites that had people dancing in the aisles.

Griffen O'Neill as Joseph, in Joseph and
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

MoorArts and Moorestown Parks & Recreation Department teamed up to produce Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in July, 2018. The joint theater production was a product of a long-standing collaboration between the two organizations, which has resulted in a variety of arts-related events throughout the community.

Moorestown Creates!

MoorArts is one of the founding partners of Moorestown Creates, Sustainable Moorestown's arts committee formed to connect with, advocate for and help build a unified voice for the community of creative people living or working in Moorestown. Art About Town

We are excited to partner with local businesses and organizations for Art About Town, a project that showcases artwork by Moorestown Public School students in the community’s storefront windows and public buildings. Art About Town exhibits are rotated quarterly, providing the public with an ongoing opportunity to see the wonderful art created in our schools. Artwork is currently on display at Keller Williams Real Estate, Health Haven, La Di Da, Signature Design, Moorestown Hardware, and Moorestown Public Library.

It Takes a Village

Many hands, amazing work! In our 2016 summer production of AIDA, the slaves make a veil for their Nubian princess, Aida...a 20-foot veil--not a standard costume item! Students from Moorestown Parks & Recreation's Summer Theater Program as well as Moorestown High School's Life Skills class responded to the challenge and worked collaboratively to create the veil used so effectively in the show. This is what community theater is all about!

Strike a pose!

The avant garde costumes in the "My Strongest Suit" scene of our 2016 production of AIDA were designed by Moorestown High School fine arts students coordinated by arts instructor Zoe Morrow. Among many submissions, seven designs by Freancesca Conti, Cecelia Jones, KD Jordan, Shannon King, Maria McBride, Brynne Sullivan and Imara Trim were selected for the production.
